I am finding it funny to try put dinner together without all my usual 'stuff'.
Tonight it's a simple taco lettuce wrap. But I forget to buy a can of tomatoes with green chillies, which I love, and didn't buy an avocado. I'm adding a can of black beans to see how that will go.
But, I have everything else. I did manage to unearth a good frying pan and a decent knife to cut the onion. I didn't buy The can of tomatoes because I have some, somewhere. I wasn't able to find them though in this sea of boxes. I have no idea why I didn't buy an avocado. Slipped my mind I guess.
The apartment is still in chaos and I don't want to just put things in cupboards. I want some sort of organization so I can find things down the road.
It was much easier when I was younger and didn't have a bad back.
It's interesting though. I thought I'd downsized but already have three bags for the thrift store.
Sometimes the fun is in the joke being on you; that where you are moving to will ultimately be a worse-off location. Oh well, enjoy the honeymoon period at least.
Actually, every morning when I wake up I am joyful to be here. So nice to have so much light!
Oh, and this complex is owned/manager by the same company as my last one. The maintenance man for that complex just stopped by. There was a whole cupboard I'd missed and he brought a box of stuff. My blender, food processor and other cooking supplies. I don't know how I missed that but am thankful to have them.
I was just so tired and in so much pain by the time I was packed up, I didn't care about anything. Being a disabled elder and trying to move is not fun.
