I am making a cross country move from Texas to Virginia and I am reseraching my moving/storage options. Has anyone used PODS before and if so what were your experiences good and bad.
Thanks!

Look into ABF U-Pack, similar concept but better pricing, at least on some routes I checked.

Those prices are not bad. I woulden't mind packing my own stuff up and the reward is security of packing my own stuff up and exercise I would get out of it. But I do hate riding big vehicles on long distance trip (1000+ miles). I have to keep these guys in mind if I ever do decide to leave my brick wall of China

I have also used ABF and using them again in Sept. I think PODS are kinda expensive. The only negative in comparison with ABF is that depending on where you live they may not be able to park a trailer for you, so you have to go to the drop off location to load up. But I am only paying $827 for them to take my stuff from Ca to Tx. Also, don't get why the relocubes cost so much more than the trailer??? Almost a difference of $300 for 2 cubes to be dropped off.

No I picked it up within about a week after arrival. I don't think ABF has any storage since they are a freight company. But then again I thought I read somewhere about them storing the relocubes, not sure. You may want to check out their website and see if they do or not.

IIRC the cubes storage charge was $95/mo, I know when I was doing some comparisons it was quite a bit less than PODS.

Default Pods

Do not utilize PODS. The initial cost may seem reasonable, but once you attempt to have it delivered they start adding extra charges, stating they cannot charge the full delivery fee legally until the day of delivery. BE VERY CAREFUL.
