Got a quote back from them and I thought to be a bit high. Is moving a seasonal thing whereas it might be cheaper to move during another season other than summer? Thanks.

Just like any other seasonal activity, the rates will be higher when the demand is stronger.

But with the increases in fuel costs, those surcharges might be more than the seasonal difference later this year in the "off" season.

Kind of like gambling... I plan on moving next April 2010 so I just got a quote to give me a ball park idea. I know the quote will have changed 10 months from now...

ABF is actually quite reasonable compared to others like PODS. I just got a quote and it was only $617 doing terminal to terminal.

I just booked a move and found broadway express to be less expensive than ABF. Broadway express also supplies the blankets and rope. You might get a quote from them. I believe we are paying $3250 for 28' from Az to PA.
