Need Help!! My husband and I are scheduled to move in 5 weeks from Charlotte, NC to Dallas, TX. Our original plan is to get a Uhaul and do everything ourselves however, our only issue is that we have two vehicles plus the Uhaul; and only two people to make the trip (hubby and I). We've considered either towing one vehicle and or having a family member help us drive and paying for an airline ticket for them to get back to their state. I called myself doing some research on moving companies that had good reviews to help with the move so that we can focus on just driving our cars and got a few quotes that seemed reasonable in comparison to the doing it ourselves aproach I mentioned above (we don't have a lot of stuff). Then, I came on here and became extremely overwhelmed with the information and research that goes in to finding a reputable mover. Is there anyone on here that has moved cross states in the last three months that has had a good experience with a reputable mover that they would recommend? I'm extremely nervous on how this all will come together in just 5 weeks. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

We moved across the country five months ago and had a TERRIBLE experience, but in the process I discovered that should I ever need them again, I would go with Allied Van Lines, hands down (am I allowed to say that?). I would not go with any small company unless you are absolutely certain of them.

There is a wonderful website called www.movingscam.com that you should visit. It has a check list for finding a good mover, actual reviews for movers you may be considering, and a list of movers that are con-artists and scammers. I've used them as my "bible" for the last few moves we have done. Take a look & good luck with your up-coming move!
