Title explains it all. I'll go first. These are combined from both my mom and dads side of the Family..

(tied) 1. Orlando metro: Parents, both siblings, one set of grand parents, 11 first cousins and their parents, 12 2nd cousins, their parents and grandparents (my great aunt/uncles).

(tied)1. NYC metro: 3 first cousins and their parents, 17 2nd cousins their parents and grand parents (my great uncle/aunts), and more distant family.

(Reason for the tie: Most of my immediate relatives live in metro Orlando but many more relatives in general live in the NYC metro.)

3.State of Oregon: 3 first cousins and their parents

4.San Diego/Chicago metro: other set of grand parents (They have two homes, one in SD other in Chicago).

5.Miami metro: 3 2nd cousins and their parents

Other areas with distant family include WA GA and TN, but they are very distant, I have only seen them once or twice.

Almost my entire family lives in the Twin Cities. When I was a child almost everyone lived in St Paul proper. Now it has spread out to Minneapolis and some of the suburbs. One of my cousins moved to Wichita KS. My wifes family is largely from the Iron Range in Northern MN although a large number of them have migrated to Duluth and the Twin Cities.

The majority of my family lives in two seperate metro areas:

Detroit - 45%

Evansville - 15%

The other 40% is split between Indianapolis and the parts of Michigan not in the Detroit area. The there are some outliers, a cousin in Orange County, California; and uncle up in Albany.

100% of my family, including distant relatives I know of, live in rural areas. I sat here and tried to think of one person in the family who lives in a Metro area. Almost all of us have at one point or another lived in Metro areas, some of us even several different Metro areas over the years. I think within the family we have lived in all the larger Metro area of the Country, but at this point they just don't offer what any of us are looking for.

Let's keep in mind that I've been estranged from virtually all of my family for at least three years...

Father's side:

Orange County, CA MSA (Anaheim, Santa Ana, Orange, Tustin, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, Lake Forest, etc). Last I heard, my father still lives there, along with all of my aunts and uncles, most of my cousins and a sister. Some of my cousins have spread out to Riverside-San Bernardino, CA MSA (namely suburbs like Chino Hills and Rancho Cucamonga). I have another sister that I barely know that has called me out of the blue from Riverside-San Bernardino, CA MSA, and Chicago, IL MSA.

Mother's side:

Seattle, WA MSA (Magnolia neighborhood, Everett). My grandmother, sister, and aunt. My great aunt/uncle lived in Bellingham, WA MSA. I had other fairly distant relatives in Los Angeles, CA MSA (Azusa) and Las Cruces, NM MSA.

My mother died in Riverside-San Bernardino, CA MSA (Redlands), but last resided in Bakersfield, CA MSA (Ridgecrest).

Last I heard my brother was still living in Riverside-San Bernardino, CA MSA (Mira Loma).

And I live in Denver, CO MSA for no reason in particular.

Portland, Maine metro
state of Rhode Island
Boston metro
New York City metro (including the part of Connecticut near New York City)

That's where the majority of them live. But I also have relatives in Colorado and North Carolina. And I live in Las Cruces.
