Not to upset anybody who may or may not make the top of the list but just for fun I decided I will posts this. I came across a website called www.splcenter.org, I dont know how reliable the information is but they give you the raw number of hate groups in each state. I decided to take the Sq. mile of land in each state to come up with my own numbers to find out what states have the Most-to-Least hate groups per sq mile.

Some places like DC for example dont have a very large land area therefor will have more per sq. mile, Alaska will have more land so will naturally will have less per sq. mile, but still gives you an idea of for every mile in each direction how many you have around you at any given time. Depending on who you ask maby just one way of gauging how much hate/racism is around you. Here is the list below.

Moderator cut: off topic

Wouldn't it make more sense to divide by population rather than area? Also the SPLC I think has some controversies regarding its methodology or something.

It looks like Iowa should be 28th not 26th.

well by land area I felt that you can get a better idea of how much land area you have to move around in before you come along a hate group. They ones that are like 1 for every 500 miles you are *alot* more likley to run accross one than say every 5,000 sq. miles. If I were to do population instead it would tell many hate groups per whatever the population is but i wouln't get an idea of rather they are 90% out by the coast or the mountains or wherever.... I just feel I get a better idea with land area personally.

Granted DC is fairly small by land area but find it very interesting yet scary that at any given point there is roughly around 1 hate group for every 8 sq. miles... That is *alot*. They also have one of the highest crime rates, cost-of-living, divorce rates... Just not good at all. DC, you scare me.

I don't think the information is very accurate. Who is describing hate?

We recently visited Williamsburg, Virginia and heard someone speak as Thomas Jefferson. I would like to hear more of the talks from our founding fathers. A group is not a hate group just because it does not think like we do. He specifically spoke to the fact that our constitution does not have a right to say that we should think one way or the other.

We have laws that state what a person can and cannot do as far as their actions, but in America a person can have any prejudice or think in any way they want to as long as they obey the laws of our land. By our constitution, our government can tell a person what to do as far as not commiting crimes, but the constitution does not allow for telling a person how to think or what to say. It is called freedom of speech. Our present government does not seem to like freedom of speech, but our nation was founded on it. When freedom of speech goes, so does our nation. Freedom is a precious thing; do your best not to lose it.

Nobody is "describing" hate as you say. I am simply taking the # of hate groups that reside in each state, the # sq miles in each state and calculated how many hate groups PER sq. mile *ARE* in each state.

I agree with you 100% about this being America and having the right to be in a hate groups or be prejudice if we want but no matter how you want to put it I do not like prejudice people or racism and most dont. i'm talking about kkk, neo nazi etc... Racism needs to die along with old views that it is acceptable and okay.
