I am in South Florida and still looking to move to a less expensive, more down-to-earth place (have had some great advice on this forum, but still donig my homework).

I really hate pretentiousness, materialism, or anything reeking of trendy. I don't care about high-end stores (Target or Penney's is just fine), restaurants or schools (I have no kids). I don't make much money, so would have to have cheap rent.

I prefer a small-town, blue-collar feel, but still would like access to decent job availability (i.e. a decent size city).

Someplace with friendly, down-to-earth people...
