I live in Seattle and the weather here has sucked for most of the summer. Charleston, South Carolina sounds nice. I would pick Charleston over Seattle. The weather here in Seattle has sucked for the last two years. It's 58 degrees and foggy right now. Total joke!
Charleston is very, very conservative and Southern (so are other cities suggested here like Oklahoma City, Nashville, Augusta), and it sounds like the OP wants a place that isn't very conservative. Any major Florida city (except Jacksonville) would be more in line with what the OP was looking for in both weather and culture. Seattle would be the best overall match, but the weather would be the sticking point. At least it doesn't snow in Seattle.
By the way, FFG, I would gladly take 58 degrees and foggy over the punishing heat and humidity that we've had in Minnesota this year.
I would think either texas or florida definately, probably houston or miami, if houston as a native houstonian, the type of trails parks neighborhoods ect you would want would be best found around herman park and midtown, or perhaps the heights in memorial park. But if you want a waterfront city then definately miami I would think
I know that you said that you don't want to deal with the snow but I believe if you just checked out Park City, UT you would fall in love with it. I have! Park City transportation is one of the best that I have been on. It is relaxing and there are tons to do. You have everything you are looking for right around you and you are only 25 Min away from Salt Lake City where there are plenty of things to do.
