Should've knocked that ignoramus out of the gene pool.
I don't go out to the Northeast that often, but even that geographical absent-mindedness will make my skin crawl.

In Missouri, I would get, "California?" "Why the hell did you move here?"

I have no problem whatsoever showing my Florida ID when out of state. When I am out West or up North, people usually say something like "Oh, you are a long way from home!" I have never faced any negativity yet because of it, but could not care less if I did.

My license still says Tennessee at the top, bit I don't really think about it or care. And keep in mind I left TN because I hated living there, so it's not like I'm super proud of it or anything, I just don't care if anyone has a problem with it.

Just respond with "You ever see or heard of that movie Soylent Green? That's what I thought!"

I've traveled a lot with my New Hampshire driver's license and while I'm usually proud of its relative uniqueness, I always did feel a little funny showing it to people out West, especially when buying alcohol. I always feared they would assume it was a fake since it was probably the first New Hampshire ID they'd ever seen in that roadside liquor store in Nevada.

After moving to Illinois I don't even think about it. No one has ever cared at all.

I kinda liked having an Iowa ID though where I grew up. Whenever I'd leave the Midwest and go to the west/east coasts, Colorado or down south people would, almost as if required by law, go "Oh wow - you're from Iowa!?". It was as if I was some exotic foreign traveler.

I was in California over Memorial Day and we told a group we were drinking with that we were from Chicago. Their response "Oh, that's cool. Is there still snow on the ground there? You must love these 70's we're having!". Our response "....it's actually in the 80's back home and there hasn't been snow on the ground for about two and a half months".

In my experience, Maryland is a state that most either like or don't have much of an opinion about. So, I never have a problem showing my ID.

This is about as ignorant as everyone assuming I lived by the beach or some horrible place like that after seeing my CA ID.
Too bad people aren't more informed about geography.

Haha, this reminds me of the movie Superbad with "McLovin" and his fake I.D. from Hawaii.
