Alot of people outside the country know of New York, California, Florida and Texas for its large cities, tourism, natural scenery and large cities. But which states would come after NY CA FL and TX? I'm guessing Pennsylvania, Colorado, Virginia and Illinois

I would add Nevada to the mix. While Las Vegas has probably fallen a lot in the housing market, it still has a lot of tourism for a city its size.

And actually, here's a list from 2007 that shows where overseas travelers likely went.

Wow. Not one mention of Atlanta and Georgia, home to the busiest airport in the world and 7th largest point of international entry into the United States as well 7th most visited city in the nation. Ignorance is bliss huh?

"Oh, ya know, just the seventh-largest point of international entry in the Unites States."

Alaska and Hawai'i are probably pretty well known most places. Maybe Montana or Arizona because of western movies and that sort of thing. Some cities are almost certainly better-known that the states they're in (Las Vegas, Chicago, Seattle).
