Easterners like to boast about the Tail of the Dragon, but that one is only 11 miles long. The western portion of Highway 36 is 140 miles long.
Wow, 36 west of I-5 looks like a roller coaster! We have a decent amount of fun roads in CO, but the curviest roads that I've been on were in Western NC and North Georgia. The contour of the land- and the fact that they often built the roads with heavy banks made driving a blast (or a nightmare, if you were actually trying to get somewhere in a reasonable amount of time).
Tail of the Dragon was fun, but often a little crowded with bikes. The 36 mile Cherohala Skyway nearby seemed to have much less traffic on it. Quite a few other roads or loops nearby seemed ridiculous (like the Copperhead Loop, south of Asheville- HWYS 215 and 276, I believe). Apart from that, I used to take back roads from Western NC to Florida via Atlanta, and some of the roads along the way like 19 from Blairsville to Dahlonega felt like pretty outrageous stretches of highway, as well.

Highway 17 in Northern California (from Santa Clara County to Santa Cruz County). Also, Highway 152 is pretty curvy from Los Banos, CA to Watsonville, CA.
CA highway 4 over the Sierra (Ebbetts Pass) -- VERY twisty and narrow!
CA highway 108 over Sonora Pass
CA 128 between Cloverdale and Boonville
CA highway 190 going into Death Valley
The northernmost section of CA 1, south of Leggett
Utah highway 12 -- the whole thing
As far as interstates are concerned, there's a stretch of I-8 in east San Diego County that is so convoluted that the two directions cross each other and for a few miles the westbound lanes are south of the eastbound lanes. There's a section of I-5 like that too, but it's not particularly curvy. I-5 does have some nice curves up by Mt. Shasta though.

It's actually longer than that, there are curves that get to there adding another 15 miles or so onto it. I've driven it. The cut backs are like every 50 feet also.
