Sounds about right for this area as well. A few words were a bit stronger sounding that we do, but not by much... probably only noticed it because I was listening for any difference. What do I think about the accent? Don't think much about accents at all to tell the truth, it doesn't bother me at all.

there is a pretty big difference even within the great lakes cities themselves. I hear Chicagoans who BARELY have an accent and have lived there forever, and then some with very strong accents. Same goes with Cleveland and basically any city in america.
The really interesting thing is when you start combining the NCVS accent with the Northwood accent. The combined influence results in a thicker accent. The combined influence is more common in parts of Michigan and Wisconsin.
