Also, if they don't mind a commute, NYC area communities like: Wheatley Heights, Baldwin and the Belmont area of West Babylon on Long Island; Nyack in Rockland County NY; the Fleetwood area of Mount Vernon NY; parts of White Plains, New Rochelle, Ossining and Tarrytown in Westchester County NY; West Orange NJ; Montclair, Linden, Teaneck and Englewood in NJ; Stamford CT and Southeast Queens.

As for Detroit, suburbs like Lathrup Village, much of Southfield, Oak Park, Farmington/Farmington Hills, Bloomfield Hills, West Bloomfield, Harper Woods, the Grosse Pointes(closer to Harper Woods) and perhaps Auburn Hills, among some others. In the city, look into East English Village, Indian Village, the University District, Sherwood Forest, West Village and the already mentioned Palmer Woods, among a few others.

I have absolutely nothing in common with the man, so I can suggest some places that I would hate, if that would be helpful. I'm not black, Ive never been a mover or shaker, nor aggressively aspiring to anything, nor any kind of executive, I don't want to live anywhere near a city, and I'm an atheist and a communist. He doesn't want to be anywhere where I'd feel comfortable.
