Basically somewhere that isn't too hot or humid but also not so cold/mild where it is often too cold to go swimming outside.

Not looking to move anywhere, just curious where the best summers are lol.

Where are the best summer temperatures and why?

Inland Northwest (anywhere east of the coast hills/Olympics, except some desert and high elevation areas), coastal California.

Living in western Washington, I'm not so sure, the nice days can be hit or miss, and some years we only get a few weeks of summer. But I love the eastern Washington summers.

Well what do you consdier too hot or too cold?

I personally loved summers along the coast in San Diego. Usually low/mid to upper 70's, mid-80 max. Relatively warm and comfortable evenings and nights in the 70's and 60's. It has the most ideal summer weather imo in the US.

Too hot=85 or above with humidity, or 95 or above with NO humidity.

Too cold=Below 70 with humidity or below 75 with no humidity.

Mountain towns would probably work too but they are chilly when the sun goes down.

Other than that Coastal Southern CA would work as that's pretty much the summer temperature range. Areas along the bay in the SF Bay Area generally have that temperature range too but can be chilly at night.

Maybe some parts of the Upper Midwest too I would imagine but I'm not terribly familiar with that climate.

I have to add though-when it does get nice in western Washington, it is absolutely beautiful. I just wish it was more consistent and longer. Then the summers there would be perfect. Just too many cold days for it to be a "perfect" summer weather wise.

The Great Lakes have the most beautiful summer weather IMO. While obviously more humid than the West; it is tempered by wonderful breezes off of the lakes. The vegetation is also very lush and stays green even during the driest years. Summer weather in Upstate/Western NY State which has Lake Ontario and Lake Erie is amazing.
