East St. Louis honestly has the worst "bombed out" areas I've ever seen.

East St. Louis is not a major city though it's directly across the Mississippi from St. Louis.

Detroit. A city that once had 2 million people and is now only home to 1/3 of that many people has to be filled with slums, yes?

Define "slum."

i dont understand why nyc gets a pass, it doesnt really look better than philly and has many bad hoods too
maybe its becuz nyc's ghettos are more outta sight, while philly got mad hoods right next to center city, but its prolly also becuz nyc is overhyped and gets a pass for everything

Because most of NYC's ghettos don't look as run down and decayed. They're more gritty than decayed. Here are two in not so good parts of the Bronx:

Philly in my opinion is absolutely awful looking.

West Philadelphia looks like a bombed out 3rd world country---a cobination of decaying communist housing blocks and dilapidated housing of an East Africxan country---

North Philadelphia looks awful too. Just run down, old, gritty, abandoned row homes, telephone polls, crumbing infrastructure...the roads and the bridges are potholed and rusted-- overgrown weeds and ugly signage--- ugh.

Ceneter city Philly is nice and there are sopme great philly neighborhoods, but a lot of Philly looks awfully depressing.
