It seems to me that the British influence of this country is weak. Very few of the most common foods we eat are of British origin. The most popular sports are totally different. And its seems the me that the strongest British influences are at governmental level.

So how strong is the British influence in the US?

Who cares?

If you want to eat, play the sports they do, then move there.

I'd agree it's pretty weak, rather I think the US influences Britain more than Britain influences US

And compared to virtually any non-commonwealth country, pretty strong.

Of course, but in many ways the UK is much more similar to other European countries in terms of the values of the people, and what role govt plays in the life of the society. Americans have moved very far away from the British idea of conservatism. US conservatism is almost unrecognizable to a British conservative.

Rather weak. There are many other European countries that have had a larger influence on the US than Britain and of course, there are many things done in the US and Canada that aren't done in other parts of the world.

It's stronger than many people think. Certain British bankers have a huge influence on this country, whether you believe it or not.
