I don't know about 'soul' but I guess it's got 'honky tonk'?

Some of you don't know the meaning of what soul is? First of all, most white people "DO NOT" have any soul. That's not a generalization or a racist remark either. Soul is a natural feeling of rythmn that you carry. Soul is effortless style. Soul is flavor. Soul is cool. Now the kids call it swag. Justin Timberlake, Christina Agulera and Robin Thicke have soul that comes naturally. Adele has soul. Pink has some soul. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of cool white people and there are also a lot of black people that don't have any soul at all. But it's few and far between. You can look at someone like James Brown and just tell he overflowed with soul. To say that DC doesn't have any soul is slap in the face of Marvin Gaye and Duke Ellington and the millions of AA's in the DMV. How can a city that is arguably the mecca for African Americans not have any soul. DC created it's own music (Go-Go) that is based on Funk, R&B and African Congas but Boston, Nashville and San Francisco have soul. GTFOOH! That's hilarious!

Cities with real soul in no particular order!
Detroit
Chicago
Oakland
Bmore
St. Louis
Memphis
DC
ATL
Philly
NO
Houston

People aren't talking about "soul music" or where a lot of black people live, they're talking about the local heartbeat. San Francisco does indeed have soul, whether you like that soul or not. Go-Go was pretty cool back in the Trouble Funk days in the early 80s, but let's get real here - it's a very minor 30 year old genre that hasn't contributed anything new to the form in 25 years or so.

So why does Jill Scott, Jay z, The Roots, Nelly, and 50 other hip hop acts sample it. Why do they do collabos with Go-Go bands. Get your life slim before you make a fool out of yourself. You sound ridiculous. BTW: Go Go is the local music for DC. Oakland has soul. SF doesn't have any soul.

^The only thing you are proving is that you have a very narrow definition of soul, to the point where you would resort to slander to prove your own point which is patently closed minded. San Francisco, no soul? Yeah OK. Sorry for not realizing that you were the authority for the definition of soul. Get real.
