Now this is some really tasty food!
Northeastern Chinese cuisine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A few restaurants are popping up around America that specialize in this specific cuisine of China. It is dramatically different from what people normally think of when they think of Chinese food. Wheat is the primary starch, rather than rice. Pickling vegetables to serve throughout the cold winters in Northeastern China is another big part of this cuisine.
I know of one place here in Atlanta that serves Dongbei food and I had a very good experience last time I went. I encourage everyone to try out their local Dongbei restaurant if you have one nearby. I bet you will be impressed!
Shocking! Despite being the cuisine of over a hundred million people in northern China, Dongbei cuisine is not one of China's eight great culinary traditions!
Whoever made that call must have been on something because this stuff if good!
