Suppose my family and me moved out of state, we currently live in Pennsylvania. I'm a young adult and I don't meet too many new people. What are the things I need to study on before picking a state for us to live?

Combination of schools, economy, COL, proximity to family members and/or nature, lifestyle (for an example, I like walking around and living an urban lifestyle. Such thing doesn't really exist in Arizona), weather, politics... Not in that order, of course.

It'll vary depending on what's important to you. I should note that the first three are probably the most important though and should definitely be considered. Now, if you don't have kids in the family, the schools don't matter so much, but I think schools are a good reflection on the community you could be living in.

#1, jobs and economy. Is work available and can you afford to live there? Everything else will more or less fall into place.
