Just look up Midwestern states and they will be in every definition, how are they Northeastern when they don't boarder Atlantic ocean or have bodies of waters that go directly to the Atlantic??

Because looking at the US map, when there is no Midwest and you split the country into 4 parts (NE,SE,SW,NW) instead, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin are Northeastern States. Any state doesn't have to border an ocean in order to be Northeastern. Tennessee, which is a Southeastern State, doesn't border an ocean and Tennessee is still considered a Southeastern State. The same thing for Illinois and Indiana, except that both states are considered Northeastern States.
Those states boarder the Great Lakes lol, start a thread and see how many people say that Indiana,Ohio,Illinois and all those other states you named are all Midwestern that was basic Geography class lol
Southern Illinois, Southern Indiana, Southern Ohio, West Virginia, Northern Virginia, Maryland, DC, Delaware and Southern New Jersey have nothing to do with the Southeast. All of them are geographically part of the Northeast. Why do some people still like to call these areas Southeastern? This is 2014, not 1864. However, Kentucky and Southern Virginia are still considered Southeastern.
Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio is correct, everything else is straight 100% BS...

No way are Indiana and Illinois northeastern states. You can't exclude the Mid-West and then have regions like Northeast, Northwest, etc.

I'd say Baltimore, both DC and Baltimore are solidly Mid-Atlantic. Maybe it's the Civil War history and the tobacco industry, but I still see Richmond as more of a southern city and Virginia as a southern state overall. However, I will say that all three have similar inner city architecture.
Both Baltimore and DC had tobacco industries back then.
