What Is White Trash? (low income, wedding, tenant)

I agree with much of the above except I don't see what's wrong with going to school for auto mechanics or beauty school! These are occupations that are needed in society (especially auto mechanics--who will fix your car when it breaks down?)
What is white trash? Paris Hilton, Brittanty Spears, Kevin Federline any many other "celebrities", all the white sports agents, at least half the white lawyers, most white celebrity publicists many white politicians etc. Money usually does not play a part in trashiness!
White trash is all about lousy attitude, lack of mannerisms, and sheer laziness in my books. I have no problem labeling people white trash to their faces (I have in several instances) if that is the way you deserve to be treated when you speak to me or behave in my presence. But never would I label such a person based on appearance alone, or apparent economic hardships.
Can someone please clarify to me just what the term "white trash" really means? I've heard this phrase tossed around like candy on here, and to me it sounds pretty severe.
My definition of white trash; people who are totally and grossly full of themselves, are totally and completely socially hostile and useless, are only ever good at telling you to "go away", people who care less if someone less popular than themselves even falls into a volcano, as well as getting police involved for something as minor as one simply saying "hi" to him/her.
When I think of white trash, I think of the following: parking cars on lawns, uneducated people that don't speak well, use profanity a lot to express themselves, drive golf carts but not on golf courses, have appliances out on their front porches, have garbage strewn around their property, men with mullets, poor fitting clothing ("plumber's butt" overweight women in crop tops). The TV show "Earl" depicts pretty much my idea of White Trash. The character Joy and her lifestyle sums it up well for me.
Some people equate the term "white trash" with people who are poor. I don't think the amount of money people have has anything to do with it. I hate to mention this, but the term came around right after the Civil War. A lot of Southern families had lost their fortunes, but still had class. There were a lot who came into fortunes because of a lower lifestyle and no morals, therefore being "white trash." This is a term I was not allowed to use, because it is not a nice thing to say. "White trash" refers to the quality of ones life. If you have all kinds of money, but don't use it in a respectable way, this term would describe you. (You being an indefinite pronoun.)
Trash is something to throw away, so white trash describes a person who lives a worthless life. People can be poor and still respectable and not smoke, drink, curse, and be lazy.
