I'm a late 20s African American female. I currently live in Atlanta, while I do love living here, I'm looking for a city that may be a better fit. It's not as diverse as I would like it to be. It's great to be surrounded by those of the same race and education level. However, I've never been too comfortable in an overwhelmingly black environment. I just love diversity. I think that DC will be a good fit, but it's just too expensive. I would like to relocate to a city that has a varied economy as well. thanks for your help!

Berkeley, CA. Tons of diversity, different levels of education, different types of neighborhoods, great weather, lots to do.

How would you know if an entire city is out of your budget?

Craiglist is your friend.

If you want a city like Atlanta but more diverse, moving to Dallas or Houston would seem to be a logical choice. Still plenty of middle-class blacks, but also a large number of Latinos. Houston has a fair amount of Asians these days as well.

Atlanta is pretty darn diverse. Maybe NYC would be more so.

Atlanta suburbs are pretty diverse. But still mostly everyone that I come in contact with is black or white.
