Hi, if I drive from Louisville, KY to Southern California in December, is it possible to take that route?

I'm originally from CA and came here for work at a school (hence, why I'd wait until December).

I'm just worried about possible ice/snow on the roads, and how difficult it would be to go back if I did.

It's hit or miss. That entire stretch of country isn't very snowy to begin with and has temperatures above freezing on average. You'd likely be fine, the chances of snow aren't very likely.
