Would love to be able to spend my summer in Portland (ME & OR) and Seattle.
Like your reply but seems really unlogical especially San Francisco-New York-Portland (OR)-Portland (ME)-Seattle
Off the top of my head and liable to change from month to month or spur of the moment:
January - Miami
February - New Orleans
March - Nashville
April - Houston
May - San Francisco
June - Los Angeles
July - Seattle
August - Denver
September - Indianapolis
October - Austin
November - Portland
December - Las Vegas
January- Honolulu, HI. Coldest month of the year, warmest city. No brainer.
February- San Diego, CA. Short flight back to the mainland. Weather between 65-70 most days. Awesome city.
March- Los Angeles, CA. Short drive up the coast. Same weather as SD, but different city vibe.
April- San Francisco, CA. Can't leave SF off a top 12 list. Most scenic city in America.
May- Las Vegas, NV. One month a year is enough for vegas. Maybe too much, but it will be a fun month.
June- Portland, OR. Summer is the least gloomy time to visit the NW, and Portland is a great city.
July- Seattle, WA. Continuing the drive north. Can't miss out on Seattle, and July is the least gloomy month in terms of weather.
August- NYC. A cross country flight, but no problem. Summer is the best time for NYC. The weather is as nice as anywhere, and it is another city that can't be left off a top 12 list.
September- Charleston, SC. Apparently a candidate for best city in the world. Enough said.
October- Savannah, GA. Another great southern city by the coast. Fall is the best time to visit because the humidity is lower, but it is still nice to be out and about
November- St Petersburg, FL. Within the Tampa Metro Area, and within 20 miles from Tampa, so it meets the criteria. St Pete is awesome in November.
December- Miami. Second coldest month, second warmest city. Another no brainer. Christmas on the beach.
Jan.- Miami, FL
Feb.- New Orleans, LA
March- Philadelphia, PA
April-Washington, D.C.
May- Brooklyn, NY
June- Nashville, TN
July-San Diego, CA
Aug- Seattle, WA
Sep.- Chicago, IL
Oct. Columbus, OH
Nov.-Scottsdale/Tempe, AZ (PHX Metro)
Dec.-Cape Coral-Fort Myers, FL (SW Florida Metro)
This is a very good list, Agree with many.
For October, I'd probably stay in Chicago
For November, I'd go a little south, to Tucson
For December and January, North Shore, Oahu
The rest is great.
