I recently began thinking about what would be the 'oldest' neighborhood in my hometown of Chicago as well as in other large cities. By oldest, I mean neighborhoods where a large percentage of the families have been living in that neighborhood for several generations. Does any data exist on something like this? What are the 'oldest' neighborhoods in your city?
Probably The Wards have the oldest buildings and families living their for generations, but the wards are in Houston. For Katy, the entire Old Katy town has had people/families living their for 50+ decades.

American Factfinder has a statistic called "year householder moved into unit", which is probably also extrapolated into "median year householder moved into unit".

Good question. Beverly, perhaps? Maybe something on the far-northwest side, like Schiller Park?
