Huntsville Alabama has a thriving craft beer scene: 8 breweries in a city (and suburb) of 235,000 people.

Portland, Seattle, Austin, Denver, L.A., San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, Louisville, Chicago, and Cincinnati/Dayton come to mind

Apparently, based on 2-3 posts before this, Spokane also has a thriving scene.
