You're ripping my topic off. Culturally and linguistically it's much more like Philly.

I accidentally voted for Hampton Roads. So the poll score should be 2 for Philadelphia, 1 for Hampton Roads.

Philadelphia. Both old northern cities.

Old Baltimore is very different than what people think about now and Baltimore, Baltimore was not a northern city in the past in many ways but its changed enormously, much more like Philadelphia now

I see the accidental votes for hampton roads but I would love to see any explanation for the other 4 votes for the similarities between Baltimore and Hampton roads? I am not being cynical as I have boated and fished around both areas and there are a few similar things , but I cant see much similar at all with the places . I am really curious to hear the similarities?

They're both port cities and they're both on the Chesapeake Bay.

That's about it.

There's more to it than that. Both have a notable military presence, too (Hampton Roads' is much more prominent, but Baltimore also has a large presence for a big city, with Annapolis, Ft Meade and all of the DC governmental spillover in the area). Both are large blue collar port cities that revolve around the water, with sizeable white collar workers dispersed throughout the metro. Both lack the massive African American/African Muslim community that Philadelphia has. Both have prominent underwater vehicular tunnels, something Philadelphia lacks. Both are south of the Mason-Dixon line and have had their "Southerness" questioned (obviously Baltimore much more so, but the 757 has also been viewed as a transplant heavy, "outlier" in the South). Both have HBCUs within city limits. And both are underrated metros that are not the alphas of their respective states/areas, unlike Philadelphia.
