We are in California now. We get SSI, which is about $600 a month. And TANF, which is $800 for 6 people.

In Idaho, TANF is cutoff if you make $300 a month or more (as the max a family can get is $300 a month). In NY, the cutoff is $600 a month. Which sucks. If we made $599, we could get like $750 in TANF!

So what States allow you to get both?

This is crucial, as in California, rent is 2-4 times higher than most states, and there are tons of requirements to rent a place. Including making 3 times the rent. Other States the rent is cheap, and there are no requirements. But Renting a cheap $1,000 place would be impossible on $600 a month.

Thank you!
