Which State Has the Slowest Pace of Life? (centers, beaches)

Mississippi, hands down. Alabama has some busy, bustling urban centers (not just Birmingham). Arkansas is pretty up there, but it does have a lot of outdoor activities that are very popular - hiking, whitewater rafting, etc.
That's funny. I've never even been to the south (well, not way down) and i was about to say Mississippi.
I've always thought it had to do with the humidity and the density of the atmosphere and the "thick" or heavy energy down there. Alabama too? A similar slowness?
Mississippi isn't entirely a backwater (Jackson and the Gulf Beaches areas for example) and in terms "slowest pace" would argue that states like Wyoming, South Dakota or even Utah could argue for that as outside of a few urban areas the rest of the state is very lightly populated, or not at all.
