Alaska needed more love so that's what tipped me over the edge. In my opinion, Hawaii, Alaska, California, the Pacific Northwest, the Desert West and the Mountain West are the most stunning parts of the country. I'll add that the Everglades region and some parts of Florida are up there as well, but not the rest of the South.
I definitely feel like the Western states destroy the Eastern states in this category. I was stuck between Pacific Northwest and California, but my vote goes to California. Northern California has scenery that can be kind of similar to the Pacific Northwest. And then Southern California has the more tropical climate which I also love, and deserts too.
Oh yeah, and the pacific coast highway <3. I've never been to Alaska though, but from what I've seen and heard, Alaska seems like it might give California a run for its money.

I was just joking about the heat... chill. I'm saying it gets so hot here that we love to vacation to cold weather whereas most people don't like to vacation to cold weather, hence why I thought Alaska wasn't doing as well as it should.

Alaska makes Washington and Oregon run for its money. It's entire southern coastline (Aleutian Islands all the way to Ketchikan) not too mention the Aurora Borealis... the Yukon River is also pretty in some parts.
I mean some parts of Alaska are not as appealing, like the North Slope, but every state has ugly areas.
I don't know why California is winning. Maybe because it's diverse but... Quality over quantity.
California is winning because people have far more exposure to it and it is stunning. Yosemite NP, Sequoia NP, Kings Canyon NP, Redwood NP, Death Valley NP, Joshua Tree NP, Channel Islands NP, Lassen NP, Shasta, Whitney, Tahoe, Hwy 1, Big Sur, Point Reyes NS and The Lost Coast make for quite the line up. Alaska has absolutely incredible scenery (I voted for it) but less than 10% of Americans have ever visited. In addition to that, I bet about half of those have been on cruises, which really isn't the best way to see the state.

Well California is actually tied with the PNW at the moment but yeah I agree with you.
