So I'm from PG county which is known for being a wealthy black suburb. I also know Atlanta has some fairly rich black suburbs. Outside these two areas what are some other predominantly black wealthy suburbs.

Check the Black Mecca thread. In terms places in the NY portion of the NYC metro, it should help in terms of neighborhoods: //www.city-data.com/forum/new-y...unities-6.html

Dallas- Cedar Hill is predominantly Black and has many upper middle class neighborhoods. https://www.google.com/maps/@32.5644...7i13312!8i6656 -One of the best parts of Cedar Hill.
Lancaster, Duncanville and DeSoto are there as well.

Houston- Missouri City is the place to go.

Matteson, Park Forest, and many of the other middle-class suburbs south of Chicago are now majority-black.

Olympia Fields has been for a while. Same with Matteson. I believe that Flossmoor may have just become at least pluralistically more Black and has a median household income a little over 100k.

Lathrup Village, Michigan is about 65% Black with higher than median incomes. it's by no means among the wealthiest areas of Metro Detroit, but it's not unreasonable to say that it's upper-middle class. Bordering suburb Southfield is solidly middle class and it's about 70% Black.

Both cities became this way during the major suburban flight of Detroit. As most white people moved to the suburbs, many black people were "redlined" from the predominantly white suburbs. Southfield and Lathrup Village had large Jewish and migrant populations and were more accepting of Black suburban flight, so these became the default towns for black people with money wishing to leave Detroit. Today self-segregation still exists to a point, so both towns have become predominantly black. There's an interesting dynamic between Southfield (70% Black) and Berkley (90% White) which share a border. Both are nice towns, both have money, neither have significant crime, but they really don't share anything at all. If you live in Berkley you probably don't go to Southfield and visa versa. We like to think our society has come a long way, and it has, but the reality is that we've still got a long way to go.

Ironically, the northern part of Oak Park, another predominately Black suburb that is lower middle class(give or take), is actually in the Berkley SD. If you notice school demographics, Berkley Schools has a pretty substantial Black student population. You also have kids from Huntington Woods, an upper middle class suburb, that is in the Berkley SD. Search For Schools and Colleges

There's only one majority black town in New England (surprised there is such a place). Bloomfield, CT; a suburb of Hartford. Maybe not upper-middle class but looks like a well off suburb

Bloomfield town Hartford County Connecticut QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau

Per Capita income $40k/yr
Median Household Income $74/year

Harder to have a wealthier majority black town in New England than Maryland since the black population is much smaller

Not bad considering that the median household income is well above the national and state figures. I believe that Randolph MA(43% Black and median household income $63,259 2010-2014 census info) or Windsor CT, next to Bloomfield, has a pretty high Black percentage and is middle class(about 38% Black and median household income of $79,244, 2010-2014 census info) are the others in New England that comes close.

I don't know about upper middle class, but the eastern Teaneck(census tract that is 59.8% Black and MHHI of $90,298)/western Englewood(tract that is 66.2% Black and MHHI OF $63,472 but 3 of 4 block groups at lower end of middle class)area of NJ is an area that could viewed as a middle class, predominately Black area. An adjacent census tract in Teaneck has a couple of block groups that are pluralistically more/ predominately Black and middle class as well.
