Do people in other states know that it gets up to 86 degrees in Colorado in February? Any other states get weird weather (dangerous, eat)

Chicago has had practically NO winter at all, no snow in January or February and temps in the 30s, 40s and 50s. If this keeps up, we may turn into the Miami Beach of the Great Lakes.

I could not live in a front range Colorado climate. Sorry, but I don't like wild extremes. Yeah, 70 in January can be nice, but when it drops to 20 the next day, no thanks. I prefer my weather to be somewhat predictable, and this is usually only available on the coast. Just IMO.

I don't think the nation knows how warm Denver and Colorado can get in the winter with downslope winds.

Los Angeles San Fernando Valley all-time record high is warmer then Las Vegas all-time record and close to Phoenix all-time record high.

Colorado has downslope wind events in January and February that really heat things up. Usually Colorado has 10 to 20 days of warm, downslope winds.

I always think it is interesting how people think that Colorado is so cold in the winter but yet this type of event happens in the winter.

It is supposed to be 60 in Minneapolis on Friday and we don't have any snow on the ground. People think that we get nothing but brutal sub zero temps all winter every year.

Our weird weather usually comes in late winter or spring. There was a February day about 15 years ago where it got up to 70 in the afternoon. A front came through with severe thunderstorms in the late afternoon, the temperature kept dropping and it was a raging blizzard by midnight. All temperate areas get cold fronts but the upper Midwest and Intermountain West seem to have the biggest temperature swings.

Correct. And a few weeks back, although it was in the 70's, so was the wind. 40mph+ sustained with 70mph gusts in Colorado Springs. There was a 90mph blast on top of Pikes Peak. Tore some hip shingles off my house which has a UL certified, impact/wind resistant 50-year roof. Amazing!

Don't worry: Chicago will be on ice next year. It's a fluke because the cold trough hung over California and other western states. Next year, it'll be very, very different. Chicago will never, never be like Miami Beach of Great Lakes. I assure you that.

A couple years ago the air temp in most of Kentucky was -10 F, Frankfort got to -20 F! A couple years before that the heat index got to 120 F.

It can be in the teens in Flagstaff, AZ and snowing up a storm, cars sliding all over the road, and people shoveling sidewalks, and just 2 hours south in Phoenix, it can be in the mid-70s under the typical hot sun, with people laying out by the pool workin on their tans.
