Thanks Kyle! I truly had no idea. I have been researching Cleveland a bit, and it actually looks like an area that we could enjoy. Looks like plenty to do, it is close (enough) to other major cities for weekend trips, it's cheaper, there are plenty of good options for schools... Could be a diamond in the rough.
Tucson, AZ. Tons for kids to do, affordable, good hospitals, Phoenix nearby.
Vegas is another option... Has a ton for families to do.
Only thing I worry about somewhere like Tucson or Phoenix is my husband... He has a respiratory issue that causes him not to be able to breathe very well in really hot temperatures. They think the humidity plays a larger role than the actual temp, so it may be fine, I just don't know. Something to look at though, thank you!
Not an exact price range, no. Where we live now has high rent for the area, and we are only talking about $1,200-$1,400/mo for an 1,800 sq/ft, 3/2 house with a yard. Obviously we wouldn't find that in either Philly or Boston (more than likely) where we would be interested in living.
Basically what I'm saying is that we know that a lot of our options are going to be higher priced than where we currently are. My husband has recently taken a work from home job making a decent amount more than what he was making, but I would have to get a job lined up to know for sure what price range we would be looking at. As of right now, assuming I got a job making what I was making, we would probably be willing to go as high as $2,000/mo (We could spend more than that if necessary, but we prefer to spend the chunk of our money on experiences over rent), and would need a 3/2.
Western Mass or some Boston suburbs may work well for you in this case. The nice thing is that many of the world class hospital systems in Boston have been building clinics in the suburbs so that people outside the city do not have to always make the trip into Longwood to see a specialist.
Also keep in mind that the Northampton area recommendation is a good one. Partners Healthcare who is the parent company of Mass General Hospital and Brigham and Womens Hospital acquired Cooley Dix Hospital in Western Mass and is now fully affiliated with MGH. So you get to see specialists who are sharing information and talent with one of the best hospitals in the world. Considerably cheaper than Boston and also a beautiful place to live.
Pittsburgh is another great option. Pittsburgh has great medical institutions, medical MJ, lower COL, is safe, and is very family friendly. If you were looking for a smaller, rural town, we have many small towns in the greater Pittsburgh area that are very nice. Indiana, PA and Greensburg are nice small towns roughly within an hour of downtown Pittsburgh.

I have been doing a bit of research on the Northampton/Amherst area, and it is certainly a beautiful spot. I think it could work for us. Healthcare seems to be good, and if I absolutely had to go into Boston (or somewhere near Boston) it is less than 2hours away. Also within 3-4 hours of several other very interesting areas, not as expensive as Boston....
Do you have any Boston suburbs/exurbs you might recommend?

Pittsburgh is another one of those cities I tend to forget about. I always hear good things about it, but never think of it when I am looking at stuff. We would be okay living in a smaller town, as long as it isn't too difficult to get into the city. We would love to find a smaller, family friendly town with a walkable downtown. Not necessary, but would be good. I'll check out the recs above. Thanks!

I think you are on the right track with Western Mass, great bargain and has the great small town walkable downtown's you are looking for.
Close to Boston I would look at Salem, Woburn and Natick. I believe you could get a 3/2 for around 2k and under in all three towns.
