New Mexico has Abiquiú, Carrizozo, Socorro, Tecolote, Tecolotito, Pajarita, Jemez, Cuyamungue and a bunch more. They may or may not resemble how they are pronounced so you need to see the spelling to be sure.
Grosse Pointe, Michigan and all of its derivatives; Grosse Pointe Woods, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Park. I can never remember if they have the silent "e" on the end of one, both, or neither word. Since they are all wealthy areas and I usually (maybe erroneously) equate adding the silent "e" with being a bit pretentious, I usually add it but I still wonder.
