Really? Wow, I just love Maine - in the summer time. Took these photos a coupla years ago and I can't wait to go back!
None but the last one looks swimmable. And I know it probably isn’t given the water temp. So I’m left with a coast I have no desire to use. I’m sure Norway also has some arresting coastline. But it’s not for me.
Beyond that, I’m also find the Lowcountry landscape much more pleasurable to my senses, though I’m sure that is at least partially tied in to my opinions on their beaches. The sun over the marshes is one of the happiest views I have all year.
I picked NY. I love the beaches in The Hamptons. The homes are far apart, and the dunes are fiercely protected, so they kept very natural, with interesting plant life and wildlife. This year in particular, we are seeing a lot of whale activity, right from the beach, practically every day. And the sunsets here are spectacular.
