Good list. Who thinks about a weekend partying in St. Louis, attending the Buffalo Arts Festival or a concert in Minneapolis.
Millions of people travel to the Buffalo area to visit Niagara Falls, as do thousands of Canadians who fill area stores and malls, sporting events, and concerts.
1. NYC - Too big for me
2. LA- Too big, traffic...
3. New Orleans- My husband and I go to NO several times a year (live about 2 hours away), but could never live there.
4. San Francisco- Too expensive
5. Las Vegas- Too hot, not a desert fan
6. Honolulu- Too isolated and expensive
7. Chicago- Loved our visits there, but just don't think I could live there
8. Portland, OR- Seems like a better place to visit than live
9. Boston- Too expensive
10. Memphis- Lived there over half my life, love visiting, but don't want to move back
Honolulu is an amazing place to visit. But the thought of being stuck on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean, where the only way off is a 6 hour flight to California or an 8 hour flight to Japan is not appealing in the least.

New Orleans (my favorite city in the country, but I can't handle the weather there and the economy sucks and my line of work is very difficult there)
Seattle (I'd visit in summer, but I could never live there)
Honolulu (I love visiting, but it's too isolated)
Miami (I love the Latin culture and the nightlife and the water activities, but I couldn't handle the year round hot humid weather)
Boston (I love visiting, but I could see it being insular and difficult to fit in there)
Nashville (one of my favorite US cities as the city itself, but it's sadly in a state that is far too conservative for my liking)
Portland ME (one of the most beautiful cities I've been to, but too small to live in)
Cleveland (I have a good time every time I visit, but it's too small and a little insular for me)
Denver (looks like a really interesting city, but I couldn't see myself living there today. Maybe it transforms more in the future, I'd take it off this list and onto an option for living list, but not as of now)
Atlanta (similar above, that it seems like an awesome city and I know I'd have a good time visiting, but until the GA government becomes less conservative I wouldn't live there)
Location: That star on your map in the middle of the East Coast, DMV

Austin
Houston
Dallas (Would never live in Texas, and never stepped foot outside an airport there)
Salt Lake City
Sante Fe
Asheville, NC
Anchorage, AK
Memphis
Seattle
Spokane
Honolulu
And my impression from the OP is list places that you have never been to and chose from them, so none of the aforementioned have I visited before.
*Seattle (too cloudy and too expensive)
*Boston (too expensive, winters too long and summers too short, and lacking in diversity)
*Toronto (too cloudy and too expensive)
*San Francisco (too expensive and weather's too boring)
*Memphis (too much crime/poverty/corruption, a constant aura of despair and is way too "southern")
*Las Vegas (aside from casinos, it's a very basic city)
*London (too expensive and too cloudy)
*Honolulu (too expensive and too isolated)
*New Orleans (see Memphis)
*Orlando (see Las Vegas, except substitue casinos for amusement parks)

You sound like the kind of person who is fun to be around and you have a good time everywhere you go.
So I've been told! LOL thank you. Anyway, I do love to travel and visit cities - I just leave any big city thinking "Whew, thank goodness I don't live there." But I'm also usually thinking, "Interesting place to visit though."
