Honestly, I'd visit just about anywhere. The only cities on this list I've never been to are Houston, Miami and Seattle. Of the three, I'd guess I'd like to visit Seattle the most, but I don't have a huge desire to visit any of them. I'd never want to live in Houston, or especially Miami - I just don't like Florida.
Of the ones I've been to, I'd live in NYC and Chicago (obviously), SF, and probably DC. LA was worth a visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. I haven't been to Atlanta in a long time - from what I remember, it was pretty nice but too sprawling for my preferences. I was in St. Louis on a business trip a couple of months ago, and I don't think I'd live there - too small for me.
NYC and D.C. I would visit, but never live in. I would also visit Seattle and Chicago, and while not interested in ever living in either one, I wouldn't completely rule it out. As for all of the others, I have no interest at all. St. Louis barely counts since I live close by and visit out of necessity from time to time. It's okay, I guess.
BTW, I omitted some cities in order to make the poll short and sweet. If you have a city you like to add, choose the 'other' option.
If there is one city that I have visited many, many times but would not consider living there, it would be NYC. It is a very fun place to visit, and I love everything about it.
But until I am offered a position as Vice President of Finance, I'm afraid that I will not be able to move there.
I really enjoy visiting New York multiple times per year on day trips, but I don't know if I'd want to live there. I'm almost definite I wouldn't want to live in Manhattan; though I like being able to walk and use transit most of the time, I like to have the car for an occasional trip and not feel totally trapped by congestion. I could live in one of the relatively nearby, nice, North Jersey suburbs served by NJ Transit commuter rail though.
I would have a harder time affording NYC, LA, or D.C., and maybe Chicago. I wouldn't mind living in St. Louis. I have family that live/have lived up there, and the Cardinals and Blues are there.
I absolutely adore Washington DC and San Francisco. Both are such fun, interesting, beautiful places to visit. But I would never in a million years live in either one of them.
