I still haven't found an alternate US city that is better than Detroit for middle eastern food. Any suggestions?

Lynchburg, VA

You would NEVER think there's so much decent ethnic food in a small town like this.

Korean, Mexican, Greek (possibly the best I've ever had), Japanese just to name a few that come to mind.

Here in Tyler, TX we have some excellent locally owned ethnic food restaurants, and our metro area is only about 225k. I think our close proximity to Dallas may have something to do with it.

Indian, Greek, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Middle Eastern, and of course Mexican. Also Filipino, Hungarian, and upscale Mediterranean, and I'm sure I'm leaving some out!

Yum. Now this is making me want to go out to eat somewhere!

Asian food of all types is very popular around here. What I'd like to see is a Black Sea style restaurant, sort of a cross between European and Middle Eastern. YUM!

While I didn’t agree with that posters comment, you should educate yourself before making such comments.

From the Wiki:

Quote:
Within the greater metropolitan area, New York City itself hosts the largest concentration of Pakistani Americans of any U.S. city proper, with a population of approximately 194,000 as of the United States 2010 Census, primarily in the boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn

This is footnoted with a credible citation

You provide no citation for your numbers. The ad hominem attack is pretty pathetic and probably violates the terms of service here.

Not Reno, that's for sure. Although I did find a Basque restaurant in Elko - I wouldn't say it was super tasty but it was interesting to try.

This wasn't "authentic", but I had some really good Korean tacos in St. Louis once. (Well, University City - still counting it.)

Your numbers are from 2006. Lets try something more current.

Heres my source. Straight from the census itself. Knock yourself out:

What sets Boston apart with Brazilian food is I've found in many other cities they usually have the big production Brazilian churrasco or boojee chain joints. Boston has has the hole in the wall neighborhood Brazilian restaurants and they always have the best food. I dig Oliveira's in East Boston, they had awesome grilled meat and amazing desserts.
