I moved from Long Island to Orange County. No real culture shock. Orange Country is essentially Suffolk County with Nicer weather, palm trees and Mountains
My wife is a Westerner who moved East. She mostly mentions humidity, certain bugs (crickets in particular), winding/narrow roads and just the sheer amount of greenery as differences.
Culture-wise I think the differences aren't that stark if you're in major metropolitan areas full of transplants. That's not to say all metros have the same vibe, but for instance D.C. has a very different vibe from Philly even though both are pretty close to each other..and similarly Seattle and L.A. are very different even though both are West Coast...so I don't think there's a general West vs East thing there.
