...Besides Hawaii, but you can count it if you wish. What is a US city where it feels like you’re on a tropic island?

I never been to it, but I heard Salt Lake City has a big Tongan and Samoan population, and some parts of it feel like a mountainous, snowy version of Polynesia, and Long Beach also has a big Samoan population.

But I have never been to a major city where I felt there was a big PI community, although I guess I see a few in my hometown, Santa Rosa, mostly Fijian and the occasional Hawaiian and Samoan, and I may have felt a presence of them in Daly City/San Bruno areas.

Also I believe I noticed a Samoan community in Seattle and I have seen a few who looked it

Now I feel like Samoan food. I am not Polynesian but it’s nice to have a community nearby.

Well sure but it is more than just numbers. Where is a place where you’ll feel the culture or see PI people represented in facets of society, and have good restaurants? But I guess some of those top no places may be it.

I don't think there's enough Islanders anywhere for them to 'make' the place, but it's always been my sense that in California the Islanders very much fit into the local mix.
