Here's our conundrum:

- We're in our late 30's, childfree, very socially liberal. Pro-choice, pro-LGBT, etc. Not religious.

- We're also pro-business. Very conservative on fiscal and COVID policies (i.e. against restrictions and lockdowns of any kind). Oppose government interference of any kind.

- Pro-gun but also vegan.

Which cities/metro areas would be more than less aligned with these views? Having a hard time fitting in anywhere in this country

Sounds like you're libertarian, but don't want to admit to that label.

metro Austin texas has a lot of people like that, it's not just hardcore liberals. Alex jones(famous libertarian) lives in Austin, youd be fine there.
Joe rogan is another famous libertarian who just moved to Austin (he pretends to be liberal for attention, he's actually a hardcore libertarian)

I’m thinking either Texas or Central Florida.

Yikes. Imagine using a far right nutcase like Alex Jones to sell a city. He is not libertarian in any way, shape, or form.

Colorado could be a good choice. I've heard Denver has a fairly libertarian attitude for a big city. New Hampshire is another option.

New Hampshire came immediately to mind.

Austin, Charlotte, Tampa, Orlando. As long as you're non-religious and not have hostility towards those who are (which I don't sense that at all from you), you'd be fine in any of those 4. Your beliefs would be respected. Good luck with your search.

Ditto New Hampshire, where you choose from Boston suburbia like Portsmouth area, small cities like Manchester, or plenty of small town/rural areas.

Possibly also Vermont, which is socially liberal and is gun-owner friendly. But with a (democratic) socialist senator, I don’t know about the atmosphere there for business, large or small.

Austin would be a fit for sure. I think social conservatives are rare in the city limits. "Very liberal" and what you described are basically the two political parties; I'm somewhere in between myself. Very liberal policies are usually thwarted by the right wing state government (don't ever fall for the lie that conservatives believe in "local" government).

There is no place where every single person is going to agree with you, though.

May I suggest Flavia84ville? Kidding aside...probably a blue city in a red state.

Bizarre approach in which to find a city to live i.e. attempting to align yourself with a specific metro area in which to 'jump on a bandwagon' or to 'fit in'. No metro area is a (universal) think tank; there's something to be said for carving your own way.
