What I mean by this is: is there someone who is would not waste money but are for freedom socially? They are pro women/choice, pro gay marriage BUT against illegal immigration. Death penalty position (even though I am for it) does not matter in politician.

I tried and cannot find a politician who has beliefs like this. Anyone else possibly know? Thank you. Political party does not matter. It can be a Democrat or Republican.

Yeeeeaaaah. Lemme know when you find this person. I'd vote for 'em. Or maybe we should run.
Oh, and throw lower taxes and smaller govt into it, as well.

Sounds just like ME!!!!

The problem is, I am to smart to ever run for office.

Look the way we treat our leaders.

Their families are hounded by the media.

Their past looked at with a microscope.

Their future determined on the nightly news.

Politicians are what the constituents want them to be. Those who run under conservative moniker, happen to be mostly about providing lip service of fiscal conservatism (it has a nice ring to it, after all), while being social authoritarians that the constituents believe to be their God given right (but, of course, authoritarian doesn't click well... so they hijacked "social conservatism" instead).

I'm always hoping for someone like that. I think the majority of Americans are, truth be told.

Actually I think a lot of Ron Paul's positions match up pretty well with "Socially Liberal, Fiscally Conservative" and there is a lot about him I admire.

Ron Paul is far from being a "socially liberal" (one of the reasons, I don't consider him as a libertarian... you can't be that while forcing your personal views on others).

But then, he might be doing that to pander to his constituents.

God I wish there was.

The main reason I vote Democrat over Republican, most of the time, is because I'd rather have freedom, and a little less money.

Of course, under the last "Republican" administration, I lost money.
