Sorry that I can't offer any opinions, as I've only just passed through St. George and I've never been to Prescott at all. But I want to follow this thread because, based on their reputations, both of these cities are on my radar for a potential retirement location.
Prescott average age is 57, with a slight majority over 55. St. George has an average age of 34, with almost 1/3rd over 55.
St. George the city has twice the population size of Prescott. Prescott 1,000 per sq. mi. in city, 30 in county. 240k metro. SG 1,200 per sq. mi. in city, 77 in county. 185k metro.
St. George averages 101 as a high in July. Prescott, 89. SG, 123 days per year over 100 degrees. Prescott 37. SG 4 months with average nightly lows at or below freezing. Prescott, 6. Prescott, twice as high, will have a handful of snow days. SG rarely.
Prescott is more green than St George if that matters to you, atleast from what I've seen. I've only been to St George and never spent time there. It seemed like a nice town/city. As the other poster said, Prescott will have nicer summers and as everything you need really as far as amentities.
