They appear to be blowing them into the middle of the parking lots, where the gutters are, which means the rain or snow melt will just push them into the drains (big grates in the middle of the parking lot roads)... they don't suck them up with the lawn cutting, they don't rake them up or use them for mulch... our road drains are already clogged... which probably is because of past leaf draining.

Is this normal? I want to email the management, but their reaction to things like this has been to ignore or misunderstand or complain that things like this are even brought up. Every time there's a long storm (more than a few hours), the drains get water clogged up so high that you can't drive over it without the bottom part of your car being submerged (by maybe 3-6 inches). I've had damage caused to the some parts of the undercarriage or engine due to this, but they require proof to pay for which I couldn't figure out how to provide.

What happens in your area? Aren't the workers supposed to pack up the leaves? I mean, they could sell the leaves for mulch or something like that. They're a third-party, but doing this the leaf blower way seems so inefficient, and also we get crap all over our cars from it.

Check with your city. It may be against the law there. If it isn't, that explains how they're getting away with it.

People in my town blow their leaves out to the side of the street and the city has crews that pick them up, I usually just mulch them with the lawnmower which is the easiest way to get rid of them and it’s better for the lawn.

I’ve lived in two states where the city picks up leaves along the curb. It’s a great resource since it saves labor and use of plastic bags.

Here I mow the leaves on the lawn with my mulching riding mower, but like most people, I blow the driveway leaves into the street for the street sweeper to collect.

We pay our public utilities to rid the leaves outside of our property. Look it up. Of course I am generalizing but this is simply a responsibility of those we pay taxes to.

In my area, the city picks up leaves on the curb, so not unusual.

I brought it up to the landlord, and they said that they clean them up from the middle of the street... which seems so inefficient than just mulching them. What a mess it leaves on everybody's cars, and in the middle of the street until they pick it up.
