Don't sleep on PNW especially. It's kind of an outlier for the west coast as it's greener than any other area in the US (in my opinion because it's generally green year round)
Yeah I’ve just never been a fan of the NE, specifically in and around the I95 corridor. It just isn’t for me.

I know the PNW greenery is a big draw for a lot of people, but I’m more of a desert guy and am not particularly drawn to really green areas, though I also boast zero antipathy towards it; it’s just kind of a neutral feeling towards greenery. Seattle and Portland haven’t hit me with anything I’d like to see for more than, say, a week. The temperate rainforest-y thing would be nice for a day hike or an overnight camping trip. I’m much more open to changing my mind on this one, though, as the PNW is also probably my least explored part of the country, and it’s entirely possible I’m overlooking something.

Interesting topic.

New Orleans
Boston
NYC
Chicago

Probably in that order as well.

For the record, I really like Ohio.

I also think some of the Canada cities would be awesome for a month. Victoria, Ottawa, St John’s would all be fantastic. I’m apprehensive about Montreal and Quebec City as I’ve heard people are sometimes denigrated or admonished for lack of French ability. Like, I know conversational and that passes the test in France. But I’ve heard Quebec can be a real ball buster about it.
