I keep seeing the word tossed around in these forums. Just curious to see what places people consider charming.

Charming= aesthetically attractive, pleasant, and welcoming

I can think of several places I've been right off the bat that meet that definition to a tee:

Fairhope, Alabama

Bardstown, Kentucky

Fernandina Beach, Florida

Woodstock, Vermont

Franklin, North Carolina

Milledgeville, Georgia

Ocean Springs, Mississippi

Princeton, New Jersey

If you've got plenty of money, most places can be charming.

I used to love San Francisco's ethnic neighborhoods, they were charming to me, like visiting different countries. I've heard everything's been gentrified; I'm afraid to go back and break my heart.

That's a good list. Wonder if someone can chime in with similar places in the west.

It might seem too 'precious' for some.... but I found downtown Ashland, Oregon quite charming.
