I also commented on your Idaho thread, but didn't bring up these two cities:

Moscow, ID and across the boarder Pullman, WA. Two university cities. Mountains to the east, prairie to the west.

Lewiston, ID and across the boarder Clarkston, WA. Small university in Lewiston, better shopping in Clarkson. At the mouth of the Clearwater River and beautiful mountains and river valley to the east. Again, prairie to the west.

Less snow in both locations than CDL, and a bit warmer in the winter. Still close enough to Spokane to get there for the weekend or to use the Airport. Housing is $100 - $150K cheaper than CDL on average.

I guess I should have been more specific in what I meant by mild-ish… I’m not expecting mild weather, if that was the only goal I’d move to San Diego and call it a day. I’m trying to find all four seasons without extremely long, brutal or dark winters.

Thanks!! It’s really appreciated. I drove through Moscow and remember thinking, this is kind of cute. It’s definitely on my radar. Looks like it might be an up and coming area, so that’s interesting. I definitely think it deserves a deeper look.

Lewiston is a hard pass. Had lunch there with a relative who lives in Kamiah. Very brown and blah from what I saw.
