Miami is bucking this trend….its stores and malls are expanding, not shutting down. Besides Aventura and Design District mentioned in the following Forbes article, Bal Harbour Shops is undergoing a major expansion.

San Diego’s downtown Horton Plaza mall is being converted to innovation hub/office space in hopes of attracting tech and biotech / life science firms.

A Few interesting conversions

Old Movie Theater is now a Church.
Block Busters turned into a Church
Car Dealer- The local Hospital brought the building turned it into an adult daycare. I been inside i could not believe it used to be a car dealer.
This Motel sold the Restaurant/Conference room to an Adult day care company.
Pizza shop being turned into a cellphone store.
Adult Vocational School being turned into a Save A lot, Sadly the Save A lot closed down.

They overbuild way too many shopping centers.
