Yes it is. Northern Michigan and Northern Wisconsin are very much alike. If you really like the snow look for the areas downwind of Lake Superior and Lake Michigan.(northern lower Michigan) These areas near the lake (downwind) get much more snow than the rest of the upper Midwest.

Heh, last week, when I visited Niagara Falls, I was driving back through the city out to I-190, and I saw a pickup truck with a Confederate flag sticker on the back window. The truck had New York plates.

It can happen, but it is still quite rare.
