The vast majority of 20-29 yr olds in Boulder are living off their parents' check books. I would call that preppy haha.

I didn’t really get a sense that Atlanta or Alpharetta is preppier than anywhere else.

Did you visit Avalon? Go hang out at places in Milton (with a big equestrian community) as well, and you'll sing a different tune.

Are there any states without preppy enclaves?

Looking at a census tract map of Anchorage, AK, it looks like the southeast part of the city, and the Eagle River area, have the highest MHIs. St Elizabeth Ann Seton School and Grace Christian School (both in SE Anch.) are private schools with an A and A- on Niche, respectively. I wonder if there's publicly available data out there on what % of students in a high school attend college out of state, or how many students from there have ever attended e.g. Harvard.

Are Fargo and Sioux Falls big enough to have preppy areas? I'm guessing they wouldn't exist anywhere else in ND/SD.

I live in LA. Definitely wouldnt describe the city as a whole as preppy, nor any large city really. But like every large city, it has preppy areas. In LA its the westside of town, primarily from Beverly Hills to Santa Monica. Also Orange County has a good amount of preppy.

Avalon is great, but it didn’t seem that preppy. I see it as affluent, but not particularly preppy.

By the way, if you like Avalon you’d probably like Midtown Tampa. They’re very similar.
